Gettysburg Library to Receive $750,000 Keystone Grant
April 7, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Dan Moul (R-Adams) announced today the Adams County Library System has been awarded a $750,000 Keystone Grant for construction of a new Gettysburg Library off Route 116 West in Cumberland Township, behind the Lutheran Seminary and Gettysburg YMCA.
Gettysburg is one of just 27 public libraries receiving a share of more than $11 million in Keystone Grants being awarded statewide through the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries. The grants are to be used for library facility improvements that address the need for modern technology, accessibility, energy efficiency, non-routine maintenance, expansion and new construction.
Gettysburg Library, which also houses the administrative offices for the Adams County Library System’s six public libraries, has outgrown its current location at 140 Baltimore St. in Gettysburg. The grant will help design and develop a modern, multi-purpose library facility on the new site, to replace the current location.
“I was happy to support this grant, which will bring a bigger, better library to our area,” said Moul. “Public libraries are essential to the growth and development of our communities, particularly here in historic Adams County. They are a great resource for encouraging children to read and helping us all to better understand the world and our place in it.”
